European Council adopts exemptions Water Framework Directive • Water News Europe

The European Council adopted exemptions for the Water Framework Directive in Brussels the 19th of June. Short-term negative impacts on water bodies and deterioration in water quality following water or sediment relocation, will no longer be considered as deterioration of waterbodies. The Member States also skipped the one-out-all-out principle and introduced new monitoring techniques.
