In late 2020, a new SWRO plant supplying clean water to communities in the Atacama region of Chile experienced permeate quality issues with its RO membranes upon start-up. The customer was forced to urgently seek replacements for the membranes and reached out to LG Chem for assistance. An accelerated pilot study confirmed the required performance of LG NanoH2O™ for the site and was awarded the replacement. LG Chem met quick delivery times for this 40 MLD facility by fulfilling the shipment within two months after the project award. The expedited and proficient response of LG Chem and the high-quality of its NanoH2O™ membranes minimized plant downtime and supply of a critical water source to the communities in this highly arid region.
