Firefighters have been battling to control the blaze at the Thomson Catchment Complex, near Mount Baw Baw, but it has proven difficult due to the rugged terrain.
Victoria's Emergency Management Commissioner, Andrew Crisp, said firefighters were preparing for a scorcher this weekend. State Government said it would order water from Victoria's desalination plant if needed.
