TO PERSONALIZE THE WATER

Each house produces its own harmless water

Imagine the human settlement Kakuma (Kenya) located in the desert, and note that the roofs of each shelter have their own wind turbine installed that converts the wind into water without the need for electrical energy, producing up to five liters of safe water (Free of dangerous microorganisms and toxic substances, causing illness and death from diarrhea or dysentery) per hour.

There are more than 844 million people around the world who have to walk for more than half an hour to get their water, although normally they are between two and four hours. And the water they get is always of poor quality.

Innovative technology solutions can help massively to close the water access gap in less time, it must be individualized the ways of extracting from various water sources, including from the air and the sea.

We can help them by helping them to install the various technological solutions that currently exist as:

·        Ultrafiltration valves that pump the river water obtaining up to 500 liters of safe water per hour. For small farming communities.

·        Treatment plants that purify water using only gravity without the need to use electricity. For small rural communities.

·        Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) that converts the air up to 10,000 liters of water per day. For human settlements located on the edge of large cities.

·        Portable water purifier using ultraviolet light (UV) purify 1 liter of water in just 90 seconds, and it serves up to 8,000 treatments.

How would we help them? To address water scarcity, such as its quality and management it is required a change of mentality as manifested in the Forum UN-Habitat[1] with the assistance of more than 22,000 people between politicians and professionals from around the world at the beginning of February 2018. They consider that to accelerate the executions of the New Urban Agenda Adapt innovative and robust mechanisms for the diversification and expansion of the means of implementation[2], in addition to Foster a culture of creativity and innovation to be embedded in the way cities and human settlements operate [3]

Individualizing access to safe water allows better independence for each family economy. Individualize access to safe water in human settlements helps to raise the self-esteem of every human being.

Individualized manufacturing is part of the growing amount of “Prosumer” (The consumer who becomes a producer)[4]. Individualizing is the essence in the human being. The way to get energy in each home is already individualized. The obtaining of ice is individualized no need to go to a glacier, for just having a refrigerator. The same happens with communication, transportation, urban gardens, food.

Self-esteem is built when one puts into execution what decides. Then we must better visualize the tendencies and empowerment potential of each person. While in community we make our solutions great.

Will it be complicated? Of course yes. Humans have always complicated things. The future can be better conceived with solutions that requires having an inflection to the direction that we have.
