ZYLK is the winner in the technological challenge launched by public water consortium Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia A technological solution has been sought through Bizkaia Open Future to provide a unified environment regarding access and management for different control systems     This was the ninth call for proposals to be conducted through the Bizkaia Open Future open innovation programme; it attracted 38 proposals from entrepreneurs, startups, SMEs, universities and technological centres from the Basque Country, the rest of Spain and around the world ZYLK, an enterprise based in Bilbao, is a leading company in optimising open-source solutions (open-source software development) and digital transformation The winner will create a real pilot of its proposal and obtain an additional prize of 15,000 euros  ZYLK, a company based in Bilbao, was the winner of the call for innovative proposals launched by Consorcio de Aguas de Bilbao through Bizkaia Open Future to facilitate management and maintenance of control devices at its facilities. This public entity, responsible for the primary water network of nearly one million Biscay citizens, turned to the initiative promoted by the Biscayan Provincial Council and Telefónica to find innovative solutions providing a unified environment for access and control for different elements. ZYLK is a leading company in optimising open-source solutions and digital transformation with a broad range of customers in the private and public sectors. The business concentrates on building digital initiatives designed to enable its customers to make the best decisions using quality data and create optimised multichannel digital experiences. The challenge set in September by Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia was entitled How can new technologies facilitate management and maintenance of the control devices of its facilities? This call for proposals, won by ZYLK, is the ninth to be launched through Bizkaia Open Future and aimed to obtain technological proposals that contribute a distinctive degree of innovation to how the consortium manages its control devices. The challenge attracted 38 proposals, of which 20 were submitted from the Basque Country, 16 from the rest of Spain and two from abroad. The winner will create an actual pilot of the successful project paid for by Consorcio de Aguas Bilbao Bizkaia and obtain an additional prize of 15,000 euros.
