More harmful algae bloom research
without action is not enough!

Nutrient runoff reduction at nonpoint sources + remediation of harmful algae blooms = reduced algae blooms and cleaner waterways, lakes and coastlines, which results in lower health risks to humans and animals. Every year more lakes and beach closings are due to harmful algae blooms. Combining reduction of nutrient runoff at nonpoint sources with HAB remediation in real-time are key factors in improving water quality conditions and drinking water.

The National Algae Association is facilitating On-Location and On-Board Nutrient Runoff Capture, Recycling and Repurposing Pilot Tests at nonpoint sources (before entering waterways) is in progress to help combat these devastating water quality problems in 50 states (ewg.org) and globally. The On-location algae production equipment will work to capture nitrogen and phosphorus to grow algae for biofertilizer as well as other potential products. The On-Board pilot tests will capture and remove tonnage of algae blooms and HABs on waterways, lakes and coastlines, brought ashore in tankage for further testing and processing into commercially-viable products.

Decades of research, testing and monitoring alone have not fixed any of these devastating water quality problems. Bring your solutions!
