WaterVest LLC is pleased to announce that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded the company a utility patent for their signature humanitarian aid and disaster relief technology, WaterVest. USPTO issues patents as way to recognize and protect novel ideas, inventions, and discoveries. The patent entitled, “high volume individual fluid transport device” grants WaterVest LLC exclusive rights to the design, use, and sale of the wearable vest. Prior to the patent, the WaterVest team conducted field tests with partner NGO, Infinium Humanitarian Systems, in Lake Arrowhead California, to examine prototype efficacy. Results from testing wielded useful feedback to make final design changes prior to the WaterVest’s first low-rate production run that took place in December. With successful tests concluding on the first low-rate production run, receipt of patent, and with the assessment of a team of disaster response/relief experts who have validated the concept, WaterVest LLC will be launching a crowd funding campaign within weeks. Through their crowd funding effort, WaterVest LLC aims to begin full-scale production and deploy WaterVests to those who need them most.
