An integrated approach to managing water (IWRM) requires a repository of integrated knowledge from which it can draw its functional strength. In this monograph with Prof. Jayanta Bandyopadhyay, we build the case for a System of Integrated Knowledge (SINK) by identifying the disintegrated thinking that has fed into much of the present governance challenges in the 10 Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) river basins and suggest the prerequisites for creating SINK for the holistic governance of water in the HKH.
