Jordan is a challenging region in which to operate AWGs --- especially the most common type, those using mechanical dehumidification technology. The atmospheric water vapour resource and dew point of the outdoor air vary noticeably with the seasons. Relatively high elevations above sea level affect the local climates by extending the winter season. Mechanical dehumidification type AWGs might not operate satisfactorily during the winter months. Desiccant-type AWGs could operate year round. Reasonable energy costs may depend on viability of using solar thermal means to recover water from the desiccant.
