Because TheWaterNetwork is now so large and active, we have attracted, unfortunately, a lot of spammers. The Network is free and open for all to join. Up until this time we have not added a "request to join" to make joining easy.
This is creating spam and extra work on the part of our editors to delete the spam accounts now on average 10 a day.
We are considering to change the registration process to require new members to request to join, they will then have to be approved by a moderator.
