A recent study shows that 93% of bottled water contains microplastics - and in alarming quantities! Brands such as NestlΓ© Pure Life, Bisleri and Gerolsteiner perform particularly poorly, with some containing over 10,000 microplastic particles per liter. Even well-known brands such as Aquafina and San Pellegrino are not free of microplastics.
π Glass and recycled bottles also often have even higher concentrations of microplastics, as other studies show. It is alarming that even more sustainable alternatives are not spared from this problem.
π¬ What does this mean for us as consumers? This seriously undermines trust in clean, bottled water. Plastic that we ingest through water can have long-term health consequences.
π The study by Orb Media provides more detailed insights into this alarming discovery. Here is the link to the study: https://lnkd.in/edNsREYy
It's time to think about how we can make our water consumption more sustainable and healthier.
