The Rise and Fall of the Salton Sea is an award-winning, feature length documentary from director Greg Bassenian that tells the story of the Salton Sea from creation in 1905 to its current environmental decline. It chronicles the hay-day of the sea during the roaring 50s and 60s as a riviera to the decline in the 80s, while also telling the stories of local citizens and activists in the area who are fighting to keep the sea alive.
