There is a joint call proposal from DST (Indian side) and the
Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Argentine Republic (MINCyT) on Indian-Argentine joint research proposal on the field Biotechnology and Energy Transition. We (myself and Dr. Aparna Ray Sarkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, India) are interested to take part in the call along with an Argentine collaborator. Let me take an opportunity to introduce ourselves. Presently, we both are working on the fabrication of novel materials from plastic waste to cast membrane for wastewater treatment and we have a joint PhD student. My area of expertise is in membrane technology, membrane bioreactor, biofuel, bioactive compound extraction, while Dr. Sarkar has expertise on pyrolysis, adsorbent preparation, biofuel. In the call for proposal, both of us are interested to submit in the biotechnology section. Both India and Argentina are enriched with the natural resources, where one of them is the fish farming. People are using toxic preservative and toxic bactericides for effective harvesting and transportation. Both the countries are suffering from substantiated water pollution from such chemicals. Novel plant based biocompatible nontoxic material formulation might create an opportunity to save water from such water pollution. So we are seeking collaborators from Argentina on such proposal. For communications further, I am giving our details below.
Email: Dr. Dwaipayan Sen - dwaipayan.sen@heritageit.edu and Dr. Aparna Ray Sarkar - aparnaray.sarkar@heritageit.edu. You may contact any one of us for further communication and joint planning.
