Severn Trent wanted to find out if SUEZ smart metering technology could be used across their varied landscapes – urban, suburban and rural – something that is difficult for others to achieve. The SUEZ WIZE was the only solution that proved viable for the rural areas as well as the urban and suburban, achieving an average performance of 98.8% with nominal variation due to the different terrains. On average, 23.3 hourly readings were available per day. All of the meters were installed in the narrow boundary boxes, typical in the UK. An additional benefit was that all of the network was based on Severn Trent properties which represents a significant cost saving on implementation.
