Increasing regulatory focus on Asset Health and Totex demands that companies look 'outside the box' at new technologies that can enable Proactive Maintenance before failure. At Adler and Allan we are using Polyurea coatings to provide 10 year extensions to life at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

"The keys to effective corrosion control of pipelines are quality design and installation of equipment, use of proper technologies, and ongoing maintenance and monitoring by trained professionals." Prevention measures includes protective coatings and linings, cathodic protection, materials selection, and inhibitors... depending on your system. Corrosion can be accelerated if you have low or high pH, high flow in pipes, high water temperature which increases biological rate of growth, gases, high dissolved solids such as salts and sulfates, and more. Corrosive water can be addressed using pretreatment systems, installing non-conductive unions, reducing hot water temperature and replacing copper piping with PVC.
