New York Puts 11M Fund Boost into Agricultural Water Quality

New York is making $11 million in grants available to help farmers protect water quality
The grants are designed to help farmers implement water management practices that protect local watersheds.
The grants are awarded for farm programs like agricultural waste storage systems and conservation cover crops. The money comes from a program funded by the New York State Environmental Protection Fund.
Gov. Cuomo announced in his State of the State speech earlier this month that he wants to increase the state’s environmental protection fund by $123 million to a total of $300 million. The increase includes an additional $100 million for clean water infrastructure.
