Enjoy the track, produced by Desertification Research Centre - University of Sassari, Italy (http://bit.ly/1nO7ery) "The song of the nitrates" was an important part of "The Water Theatre", a performance by Pier Paolo Roggero, Sante Maurizi and Francesco Calcagnini that involved in 2003 the entire community of Serra de 'Conti (Marche Region, Italy) in "Slim "(Social Learning for the Integrated Management and sustainable use of water): an European project studying the effectiveness of new strategies for sustainable water management in a non-coercive way. Serra de 'Conti was one of the 50 Marche's sites declared in "nitrates emergency": an excessive concentration of nitrates in groundwater causing problems for drinking water. Years later, sustainable water management and issues related to the use of fertilizers in agriculture seem even more current.
