Allianz to Stop Selling Insurance to Coal Companies

Europe’s biggest insurer aims to withdraw completely from sector by 2040.

Allianz has pledged to stop selling policies to coal companies in an effort to cut back the use of fossil fuels. Europe’s biggest insurance company said on Friday that it would immediately pull its coverage from single coal-fired power plants and coal mines, and that it would phase all coal risks out of its business by 2040. It also said it would stop investing in companies that do not cut their greenhouse gas emissions. The move, which will apply to Allianz’s €664bn of investments, is an extension of its coal divestment policy that was announced in 2015. Oliver Bäte, chief executive of Allianz, said: “Allianz wants to cut the biggest climate killer out of the core business over time. We are getting even more serious on global warming.”

  1. The fight against carbon dioxide, of which coal combustion is a part, is a microscopic step. The main enemy of the climate is the change in evaporation.

Science has not yet unraveled all the properties of water. We use it as a simple working fluid agent. Water affects not only the environment, but also the climate. As a result of human activity, the functions of the main part of the water have changed. Instead of keeping the biota by supplying it with moisture, mineral and organic substances, the water comes with precipitation and returns to the atmosphere by artificial evaporation from arable land, asphalt, reservoirs, dumps. In total, people took from nature 63% of the inhabited earth, each hectare of which contains 20 tons of underground living creatures. These are microbes, worms, etc. insects that, in symbiosis with plants and the land population absorb moisture, are converted in food chains and exhaled by highly individual pairs, which we call natural or organic vapors. Human intervention in the circulation of water reduces food chains, and water from asphalt and other destroyed areas evaporates immediately after precipitation. We call these evaporation artificial. More artificial fumes are produced by industry and utilities around the world. Giant artificial evaporation creates unprecedented volumes of water in the atmosphere, which have changed for centuries the worked out mechanism of atmospheric phenomena. The cyclicity, massiveness and ranges of precipitation have changed.

Only the all-round return to nature of organic fumes and the reduction of artificial fumes can save the world. Among measures to reduce artificial fumes should be the total total water saving in everyday life by each person. Complete and unconditional stop of projects and construction of reservoirs. Reconstruction of the entire agricultural sector with the introduction of unmanned plowing, drip irrigation, etc.
