With attacks on desalination plants now occurring regularly and the dependency of society on the fresh water that these plants deliver, it would be a good strategy for desalination plant developers / operators to see if excess production water can be stored in aquifers. This would create a buffer fresh water volume that can be used in case the plant is out of service for longer periods of time.
