Rather than extend its desal plants, Israel should be looking at options. Recycling of wastewater is much cheaper than desal even if you decide to put it through an RO plant. The Med-Dead project could provide green energy to power whatever processes are chosen and there is a source of clean river water just across the border with Lebanon which could save the Dead Sea.
