Dear Hydro geologists. Does ground water in sub soil regimes act as a shock absorber in event of e-quakes and tremors. The sub soil rich in greens and soft soils will behave like a sponge, cushioning shocks being carried upwards at high-rise buildings in urban-scapes Etc. at times of tremors . This can be assessed by Researchers by studying impact-damages during e-quake times in gw rich and gw deficient regions. May be analysed on comparison. Would seek comments on the above phenomenon involving hydro-geology and seismology. If the effect does realise greater impacts, then remedial measures would be needed to be taken to avert dire consequences at urbans Etc..
