Look soon for an announcement about micro-solutions to water and food issues – one farm at a time. We are close to finalizing a project to use our patented solar desalination modules in a configuration which turns a plot of raw desert into one with partial shade and fresh water production equivalent to more than 2 meters annual rainfall or more. The yield is 93% of the salty feed water as distilled water plus dry salt sequestered for storage or sale – zero waste brine. The technology can handle the range of sea/saline feed waters, including waste brine from Reverse Osmosis plants. This first installation will be in a Middle East location and will show how to grow food with only raw desert and salt water. There remain some investment options. This technology was successful in a worldwide contest for renewable desalination. Out of 69 entries from 29 countries this solar solution was judged one of the top 8 when the judges had the option to name a top 10.
