Sadly, the NSF is completely missing perhaps the greatest potential hazard which would be a strong solar emission of EMF that would inactivate microelectronics, including everything from the electric power grids around the world, to cell phones, automobiles, et al. While this research is addressing important hazard, it is missing what is the most important natural hazard. That is extremely unfortunate. John B Cook, PE
