As NY looks at this issue, they should reach out to Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) if they have not done so already, as ODNR is also challenged with this issue on several of their inland lakes as well as the Western Basin in Lake Erie. Maybe there are synergies to be gained and possibly combining funding might provide a more robust research approach to resolving this issue.
