Drought Leads to Water Conservation Requests and Restrictions

Two villages and a town in western New York have issued water conservation requests or restrictions for their residents 

Those living in Holland, Lyndonville and Alden have been asked by officials to not use water where it is unnecessary.

Officials do not want residents to excessively water their lawns or wash their cars, for example.

In Lyndonville, residents were told they can only water lawns and foliage for two hours during the day — 4-5 a.m. and 9-10 p.m.

Water conservation is only requested in Holland and Alden.

In Holland, it is taking longer for the Town Well to recover. Four wells were down in the Village of Alden.
