Spanish company Lantania has participated in the contract award ceremony to design and build a biosolids treatment complex in NEOM , the futuristic city project in northwest Saudi Arabia, according to a company statement. The contract award, worth $84 million and announced by Smart Water Magazine last July, involves the development of a biosolids treatment plant , an innovation center , and a demonstration facility . The project will be developed as a turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreement.
In partnership with Saudi firm Tawzea, Lantania will implement advanced treatment technologies using a Sequential Biological Reactor (SBR) for water treatment and solar drying methods to process sludge from a nearby wastewater recycling facility. This initiative aligns with NEOM's sustainability goals and aims to enhance water management in the region.
