Autodesk, a leading software provider for the architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, product design, and media and entertainment industries, and Transcend, a provider of generative design SaaS tools for built Infrastructure through the Transcend Design Generator (“TDG”), formally announce a strategic partnership to create a world where critical infrastructure and vertical assets are rapidly designed in an effective, sustainable, and accurate manner.
Through this collaboration, Autodesk and Transcend intend to demonstrate the power of generative design to break down walls in the capital planning process for water and wastewater facilities, enabling Utilities/Asset Owners, Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC), Engineering Service Providers (ESPs), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to assess more design options and get to a better and more accurate answer (I.e., CAPEX, OPEX or Carbon Footprint) In 90% less time than using traditional, manual design methods and processes.
“Transcend’s mission is to leverage generative design software to speed up the development of sustainable infrastructure in order to fight climate change and positively impact people’s lives,.” said Ari Raivetz, CEO of Transcend. “Autodesk offers some of the best advanced engineering tools in the industry. By more closely integrating TDG with these products, this cooperation will make tools like 3D Models, Smart P&IDs, and Digital Twins easily accessible to a wide range of Asset Owners, EPCs, ESPs, and OEMs.”
Autodesk customers and other users working with the TDG can automatically generate complete, accurate conceptual designs for a variety of water and wastewater treatment facilities Including editable design documents that are native to Autodesk products including AutoCAD®, and Revit®).
“Transcend offers Autodesk water and wastewater treatment plant customers the power of generative design by automating the design phase, allowing designers to run multiple design solutions in hours, reuse those outputs as starting points for detailed design, and ensure consistency along the project lifecycle,” said Carolina Venegas Martinez, Senior Industry Strategy Manager at Autodesk. “Our partnership will help create a world where rapidly assessing numerous design scenarios is possible in every capital planning process to better support our critical water infrastructure.”
