The Netherlands' Watersnood Museum recalls the devastating 1953 North Sea flood. It not only serves as a memorial to those lost but raises awareness about the nation's need for flood defense. Last June, as part of the US-Netherlands Professional Exchange Program, a group of U.S. water management professionals had the chance to tour the Museum and learn about efforts across the Netherlands to build public support for continued flood protection efforts.
