In 2015, we designed floating barriers for oil spill clean up applications. Never used for oil spills, these barriers have become popular in river clean up and deployed in 3 coastal rivers besides dozens of storm water drains. This has arrested over 22,000 Tons of trash from reaching the sea in one year. This includes over 2200 Tons of plastics. Now deployed in 3 coastal rivers, this model uses NIL fuel or boats and brings trash and plastics to bank within access of land based excavators. These land based excavators and trucks take away the collected trash and plastics for processing once every few days. This makes it a very low cost scalable model.
