Presence of Activated carbon on Levapor carriers with fine pore structure makes it ideal carrier for the treatment of toxic effluents which otherwise are much difficult to biodegrade with conventional approach. The presence of Levapor carriers allows growth of beneficial microorganisms responsible for the degradation of toxic substances at much higher rates compared to conventional technologies.
Presenting one of our case studies for 1.8 MLD treatment of an agrochemical wastewater. The effluent had active agro chemicals with high TDS (25000) and COD levels of 12000 ppm with TKN of 800-1000 ppm which was reduced to COD < 250 ppm and Ammonia < 5 ppm with TN < 10.
A well tested process of Advanced AOP followed by Anaerobic process with Nitrification/Denitrification was used for the project.
