THE WATERLINKS FORUM 2016 / Buildling climate-reslilient water operations in urban Asia: 5-7 October 2016 / Dusit Thani Hotel, Manila, Philippines Low-lying, coastal cities such as Bangkok, Dhaka, Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh, Kolkata, and Manila, are highly susceptible to rising sea levels, flooding and other climatic impacts. The same holds in the Pacific, where island centers are vulnerable to devastating typhoons, uncertain weather, and saline intrusion. These trends are likely to get WORSE. Asia’s cities will struggle to protect their water sources, will see their water qualities decline, and will experience immense physical, economic and social losses, if they are not equipped with adequate insurance arrangements, measures, and information. At the WATERLINKS FORUM 2016 , we have invited distinguished speakers from Australia, Fiji, the Philippines, and Viet Nam to wade us through the problems and solutions regarding SEA LEVEL RISE & SALINITY – but please, do throw in a few of your own! The WaterLinks Forum will be held on 5-7 October 2016, in Manila, Philippines. Registration is ONGOING! More information, please visit www.waterlinksforum2016.com.
