Pharmaceutical residues in discharge water
In the northern countries like Finland we take clean and cheap water for granted. "Money comes from the wall, electricity from the socket and water from the tap" is the common way of thinking. At the same time we do not realise that every year about 1,8 million kg of pharmaceutical residues end to the Baltic sea. How many years can Baltic sea take it?
Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare and Savonia university of applied science did a research of water treatment methods and removing of pharmaceutical residues from discharge water was one part of the research. The part of the results was published in Water magazine, link to the article: https://www.mdpi.com/2073-4441/13/3/360/pdf .

As the results show when ozone is dissolved to the discharge water through OxTube by SansOx, the removing of pharmaceutical residues was effective. At the same time the ozone residues was very low but the amount of dissolved oxygen was high.
