Dutch water management startup HULO.ai wins VDS Startup Competition

Leeuwarden-based HULO.ai, a company on a mission to provide a globally affordable solution to improve water supplies and reduce Non-revenue water (NRW), has won the VDS Startup Competition at the Valencia Digital Summit.
This development has drawn interest from global investors and technology experts, marking an important step for HULO.ai in advancing its solutions for sustainable water management.
The event was attended by Diana Morant, Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities; Rebeca Torró, Secretary of State for Industry; Paula Llobet, Councilor for Tourism, Innovation, Employment, and Entrepreneurship in Valencia; Juan Luis Hortelano, President of Startup Valencia; Patricia Pastor, President of VDS; and Nacho Mas, CEO of Startup Valencia.

HULO.ai was named one of the top 10 startups at the Valencia Digital Summit, selected from over 800 global entries.
Robbert Lodewijks, founder and CEO of HULO.ai, says, “Winning this award is a recognition of our hard work and the innovative potential of our AI-driven technology to transform water management. At the event, the founder presented the company’s vision for addressing water loss, which accounts for approximately 30 per cent of all clean drinking water worldwide due to leaks. HULO.ai’s advanced AI solutions aim to tackle this critical issue.
The Valencia Digital Summit, with the theme ‘Embracing Evolution: Invest in the Leaders of Tomorrow,’ celebrates its seventh edition this year, with TNW, a Financial Times Company, as a strategic partner.
The event underscores the current “technological revolution” and its positive impact on society, positioning Valencia as a global tech hub.
