FloWater, ending single-use plastic water bottle pollution by decentralizing water purification, lands spot in Top 500 on Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies
Having eliminated over 125 million plastic water bottles since its launch and on target to hit one billion bottles saved by 2022, FloWater today announces its ranking in the top 500 on the annual Inc. 5000 list. The Inc. 5000 is the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small businesses. Patagonia, Under Armour, Microsoft, Cliff Bar, Oracle, Grubhub, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, GoPro, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.
According to FloWater Co-Founder and CEO, Rich Razgaitis, “What we’ve demonstrated with FloWater for years is that businesses and consumers are not just willing, but enthusiastic, about changing their behavior away from plastic and over to FloWater Refill Stations, because they actually prefer it. They are now drinking more water, consuming less soda and coffee and, in many cases, completely eliminating single-use plastic water bottles.”
Razgaitis notes that FloWater is approaching 5,000 Refill Stations deployed into businesses, hotels, schools, gyms, and concert venues in nearly all 50 states. The company is delivering an entirely new drinking water experience for the likes of Google, Red Bull, PlayStation, Specialized Bikes, Alaska Airlines, YMCA, the Oakland Unified School District and at the Oakland Airport.
Connecting to any potable water line, FloWater’s 7-stage purification technology removes up to 99.9% of all contaminant s including micro-plastics, lead, chlorine, herbicides and pesticides, dirt, dust, rust, suspended solids and other contaminants. The water is oxygenated and enhanced with increased alkalinity, added electrolytes for better hydration and with a coconut carbon filter for great taste.
FloWater recently secured $15 million in Series B funding to fuel its continuing growth. The company has plans to round out its disruptive drinking water platform with the introduction of two new consumer products to be announced in the next year.
Companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 454 percent, and a median rate of 157 percent. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue was $237.7 billion in 2018, accounting for 1,216,308 jobs over the past three years.
“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed so many different paths to success,” says Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”
