Aquisense Technologies LLC is planning a major expansion of its Greater Cincinnati operations that will boost its workforce and expand its capabilities. The Florence-based manufacturer of water disinfection and wastewater treatment systems will invest $2.1 million to create a new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Erlanger that will result in at least 30 new jobs by the end of the year, CEO Oliver Lawal told me. Aquisense has been approved for $500,000 in tax incentives from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority that requires it to add 45 employees at the new site in the next 10 years. The average salary for those jobs will be about $70,000, according to Lawal. Open positions will include engineers, salespeople, assembly line workers, machinists and more. Lawal said the company’s growth plans match its ongoing trajectory. Aquisense is a year old and already acquired several companies, including one in North Carolina. Its new facility will move its manufacturing from North Carolina to the Tri-State. The new building will be near Toyota’s outgoing local plant. Lawal said he sees that plant’s closure as an opportunity for the region. “Ultimately, we like the cost space here,” he said. “I’m bullish on employing people here. We’ve got lots of universities within 20 miles.” http://www.aquisense.com
