Agro-Hydrologic Technology and Sustainable Knowledge Transfer in Rural Arid Zones Rio Grande do Norte / Trangola, Brazil November 2017 The agricultural course offered will be for primarily for women in the field and students of agriculture and hydrology departments. This course will be composed of topics related to fish and microalgae culture, specifically in desert conditions. Another main topic will be related to the organism and cell physiology of stress response within the frame of whole plant environment interaction. The third topic will be related to the root zone of irrigated plants addressing water flow and soil challenges in the plant environment. The first part of the course will include theoretical knowledge in the agriculture and biotechnology field including subjects that pertain to the local needs and research and development that has been designed and put into practice in Israel. We will explore examples of both working systems and challenges that Israel has faced and dealt with. Then the course will be taking these examples and putting them into practice in a model farm in Brazil where we will see how to implement the examples by finding solutions to specific issues that the local farmers are facing. http://www.negevnetwork.com/wesab
