CBIP New Delhi should ban the book published by it in 1994 written by R K Katti, Prof. (Retired) I.I.T Mumbai, titled "Behaviour of Saturated Expansive Soil and Control Methods" In this book Mr Katti has given an example of solutions for expansive soils in Indira Gandhi Nahar canal Project. Prof R K Katti have stated that any soil can be classified as expensive, if its swelling pressure (based on remolded sample with zero moisture content) exceeds certain limits. This criteria is totally false and erroneous and is against basic principles of soil mechanics. I have requested CBIP to ban it
