Dear Young Water Leaders, particularly the ones focused on desalination, you might want to take a look at this job offer: http://bit.ly/2ISbTWa Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary team to conduct research on the science and technology of desalination. The aim of the project is to study the fundamental behavior of salt ions and other impurities in aqueous solutions, including the trace elements and hydrocarbons found in water co-produced with oil and gas. The current field of interest for the project is the physical, chemical, and electrical investigation of the behavior of dissolved ions and impurities in both high density, liquid-like, and low density, vapor-like, aqueous fluids at high temperatures and pressures. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with other experimental and theoretical/computational scientists with mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering backgrounds. There will be extensive opportunities to work in a wide range of areas and to innovate. Experience in high-temperature experimentation, electrical measurements, materials characterization, non-destructive testing, building complex experimental setups, sensor development, impedance spectroscopy, or dielectric spectroscopy will be considered as important assets. Candidates with experience in experimental sciences and a keen interest in desalination science and technology are strongly encouraged to apply HERE.
