MIH Water Announces Completion of Successful Pilot Program
August 20, 2020
MIH Water Treatment, Inc. (MIH) announces the successful completion of a Hall
BioProcess™ pilot program for the treatment of groundwater with the San Antonio
Water Company (SAWCO), a mutual water company in Upland, California. The pilot
study successfully demonstrated the biological removal of nitrate in contaminated
groundwater, which will greatly improve the quality of drinking water and enhance local
water supplies. The Division of Drinking Water (DDW) of the State Water Resources
Control Board of California reviewed and approved the results of the pilot study. Using
the patented Hall BioReactor™, contaminated groundwater was continuously treated for
the removal of nitrate readily meeting strict State quality standards for drinking water.
Peter Hall, Chief Technical Officer of MIH, stated, “This is another important milestone
for both our Company and the industry. Advancements in the biological treatment of
groundwater contamination has many advantages over conventional treatment
methods, not just in terms of cost. It is a process which occurs naturally. The Hall
BioReactor™ is unique in its ability to harness this natural process to treat a range of
contaminants, safely and reliably. We are delighted to have partnered with SAWCO on
this pilot and thank them and DDW for their tremendous support.”
Brian Lee, General Manager of SAWCO stated, “Groundwater contamination is a
significant challenge for the region. Our job as stewards of this important community
resource is to ensure we have adequate supply of quality drinking water for our
customers, both now and well into the future. Advancements in groundwater treatment
will help enhance our available water supplies to continuously meet those needs.”
About MIH Water Treatment, Inc.
MIH provides advanced biological water treatment technology and services, which
