We have a well developed water conservation program in San Antonio that is wide-spread, well recognized and has been on-going for 20 years. The SAWS Conservation department, where i"m a manager, has been working with San Antonio River Authority in combining the benefits of LID - rain gardens for residential with low water use landscapes and will begin to include the concept as we promote low water use landscapes. We are hoping that since the principals of water conservation are very well supported in the community we can use that to also introduce the concepts of LID to the community. We will be starting a push in the spring 2017 but we have already incorporated the concepts in our conservation website GardenStyleSA.com.
