Suez Wins Sanitation Contracts With Guingamp Communauté

Guingamp Communauté is renewing its two public service contracts with SUEZ for drinking water and sanitation for a further eight years, worth total sales of €30 million

The key aims of this contract, which will commence in January 2016, are the preservation of water resources and enhanced quality of service for local residents and businesses.

‘We have chosen to reaffirm our confidence in SUEZ given the quality of its services, and thus continue to build on this reliable partnership. In effect, this service provider offers innovative solutions for preserving water resources: new technologies for managing networks, the modernisation of our facilities, etc. These innovations also contribute to the general improvement of the service for local residents and businesses, through locally based customer relations and user information, etc.’ explained Bernard Hamon, President of Guingamp Communauté.

‘We are proud that Guingamp Communauté is renewing its confidence in us’, added Bertrand Camus, Managing Director of Eau France at Suez. ‘Our expertise in managing sanitation networks and in connected water networks and remote meter reading will allow us to fully meet the needs of inhabitants of the Guingamp area’.

‘Smart’ solutions, based on digital technology, for preserving water resources Guingamp Communauté is committed to preserving water resources in the area and has chosen the Aquadvanced TM technology developed by SUEZ to enhance the performance of its drinking water network. Aquadvanced TM makes it possible to monitor the network in real time by measuring the flow, pressure and speed of the water. Thanks to this global, real-time view, leaks can be quickly and efficiently located and repaired. All data collected by Aquadvanced TM are processed and analysed, and can thus be used to help the local authority make decisions regarding its investment policy.

Rolling out remote meter reading to help businesses better manage their water consumption Large businesses that consume over 6,000 m3 of water per year will have their meters read remotely as of 2016. This will help them track their consumption in real time in order to better manage their consumption, monitor leaks and contribute towards preserving water resources in the area.

Raising awareness of the need to preserve water resources An educational trail along the Trieux river and an educational film have been created in order to raise awareness among inhabitants of the Guingamp Communauté area about the need to preserve water resources and help them to better understand the issues at stake in the large water cycle.
