Wastewater Process Monitoring Equipment Stands the Test of Time
When a product works reliably with minimal maintenance, plant operators can turn their focus to other areas of the treatment process. For more than 20 years, a municipal water facility in the United Kingdom has used the same Partech 7000i to monitor mixed liquor and suspended solids.
When the unit recently stopped working, the operators naturally turned to Partech for a replacement. “Given the historic reliability of the previous unit, the customer asked if there was a new version available,” says Partech Sales Engineer, Paul Norman. “The Partech unit has been through a couple of evolutions since, so a quote was provided for the latest version, which integrates with the customer’s existing install base of Partech instrumentation.”
The plant replaced the 7000i monitor with an updated system from Partech, which includes the 7300w2 Monitor with the TurbiTechw2 LA Sensor to continue monitoring mixed liquor suspended solids.
The 7300w2 Monitor is designed to offer consistent monitoring of multiple parameters from a centralized location. The monitor’s design interfaces with individual sensors and multi-sensor probes to accommodate measurement of up to 16 parameters.
The TurbiTechw2 LA Suspended Solids Sensor is designed for use in aeration. The large optical surface and sample volume combine to ensure the sensor is providing reliable information in harsh environments.
After using the same instrument for more than 20 years, the plant team is confident their new equipment will provide consistent performance and reliable results for many years to come.
