Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the world’s most challenging water issues, announced today that their product, the PipeDiver Laser, has been nominated for the Aquatech Innovation Award 2019.
The PipeDiver Laser solution is breakthrough technology for utilities concerned with monitoring pipe-joint gap measurements. Traditional gap measurement typically requires pipeline shutdowns and dewatering. In addition to being expensive, that conventional approach causes days of service disruptions for communities and puts operator crews at risk in dangerous, confined spaces.
Eric Toffin , Global Product Manager, at Xylem said “The PipeDiver Laser provides utility operators with a safer, easier and less costly alternative. This innovative Xylem technology provides both pipe-joint gap measurements and pipe wall condition assessment data while pipelines are in service. This empowers utilities to make short-term repair and long-term management decisions with confidence, reducing expensive, disruptive, and dangerous asset failures.”
At Aquatech 2019 , Xylem is showcasing its portfolio of “decision intelligence” tools that harness the power of digital technologies to transform water utility economics and operations. This new approach brings the power of data to better inform system-level choices while considering future outcomes for operations, maintenance and capital planning.
These solutions scan, predict, recommend and prioritize actions and help utilities make progress on the problems that matter most to the communities they serve: water accessibility and affordability infrastructure resilience, and environmental sustainability.
Pedro Pina, Regional Director, Europe, at Xylem said, “Decision intelligence solutions use information to support dramatically better capital and operational decision-making, save money, reduce risk, protect the environment, and improve revenue recovery, driving real value for utilities and their customers. It’s still early days, but more and more utilities around the world are harnessing data to deliver unprecedented value to their communities. Ultimately, our approach supports our clients’ commitment to public service – solving problems at scale using best-in-class technology – and affording us the opportunity of a lifetime to ‘solve water’ in communities around the world.”
Throughout Aquatech2019, attendees can visit Xylem’s booth at the Smart Water Pavilion to learn about the latest innovations in Non-Revenue Water Management, Water Quality, Urban Watershed Management and Water Equity.
In addition, Xylem will be offering insight into the latest technology and innovation breakthroughs for the water sector in several sessions featured on the Aquatech agenda.
