Thank you Rachna for a very sobering and informative article. I have been to Delhi a couple of times and I love the city but there are clearly some serious issues for many of the poor people who despite adversity, always seem so happy and kind. I hope things improve soon.

Thanks Matthew, Drinking water supply and sanitation continue to be inadequate in India. In urban areas, those that do not receive water from the piped network often have to purchase expensive water of dubious quality from private water vendors. Poor women bear a disproportionate burden and adopt several strategies to cope with the situation. I hope things get better.
