I stepped in for my field work in this village known as 'Kala Dera' in Jaipur, India a year back. Coca Cola bottling water plant has sucked almost all the water from the village! The last handpump which is workable is also on the verge of dying. After protests, since 2006, finally the plant stopped sucking water in February 2016. Many such plants working in our surroundings and taking the public's water away... leaving the groundwater levels depleted and profiteering from the commodity. Do we really need bottled water? Coke? Pepsi?
