Improved water governance boosts access to clean water

TheUnited Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) supported Angolanauthorities to put in place an effective water and sanitation system. UNDP supported legislation, decentralisation of public service delivery, and stakeholders' participation. Thanks to this project, more than 100 government officials have been trained, a water and sanitation database has been created, and, through education, the risk of water-borne diseases has decreased.
