Can you share with us about any organizations that offer financial support for the establishment of small scale water vending businesses targeting the low end of the market?

I am a social entrepreneur based in Kenya and operating a water refill station in Kisumu,Kenya.We would like to work with partners to assist us in establishing more water refill stations in the Peri-urban and slum areas.We have established that people are willing to pay a premium price for clean drinking water and therefore we would like to recruit local entrepreneurs within these areas to operate the water stations.We will set up the refill stations,help them in developing business systems and structures so that they can operate the stations sustainably.They will repay the loans used in setting up the water stations.

Hallo Edward, the water vending project you mentioned here, sounds interesting. It would be nice to get detail insight about what are the institutional setup you are planning to build and how many beneficiaries will be getting advantage of this project. Do you have a plan about what would be the tenure and limits of loan and loan repay strategy etc? Do you mind sharing business plan of the project with us ? The Water Network might like to get associate with the project if it fits in the criteria. Looking forward to hear from you.

Thank you for the encouragement.we are currently operating a water vending business and we would like to scale to the next level by working with local entrepreneurs in setting up more of these stations so that we can reach as many people as possible who lack access to clean drinking water.We are currently serving a population of 10,000 people with a target of 1,000,000 in three years. We have a business plan and website is coming soon.Thanks!
