Rain water conservation, water literacy and water ownership for communities especially women in India is a priority need, as it affects their livelihood security, gender based violence, health and hygiene and dignity at large. global and national bodies/ networks and donor community on Water need to focus on this by making aware of the community led institutions and NPOs in the frontline. Most of the time the community and women who are real stakeholders are left out from the governance process and becomes mere recipients of most of the programmes.
