We were awarded the SHELL Game changer Award by #SHELL group (approx a grant of 50000 US$) for improvising water availability for remotest villages in the #AREconference happened in New Delhi India. The whole program was done by Prof. Chetan Solanki, who is hailed as Solar Gandhi, who has left his posh job in IIT Bombay and is on a tour across India for 11 years in his bus which has all solar empowered kitchen, airconditioner, fan, light etc. Shell collaborated with him for this annula conference. They conducted a competition where alternative energy products are made and scaled, and we watsan.in pitched our natural water purifiers. We were shortlisted from almost 270 entries to last 5 who were given away the award and the money to come in various from from Shell Inc.

2) Akamai Foundation announced Watsan as winners for working on an environmental methodology to remove textile dyes from water in a green way and recirculate the water back to the industry. This will be around another 20,000 US$ for research and bringing in a scalable model of plant to alleviate textile dye water.
3) 'Watsan' as the name indicates, is WATer and SANitation. We had developed toilets using the waste glass fibres dumped as solid waste by wind mill blade manufacturers rather than depleting nature by using sand, water or carbon emitting cement! For this we got the innovative engineer award from the local vernacular newspaper in Tamilnadu, India #HinduTamilthisai and #RAMCO a leading cement manufacturer! The photos are here to watch:
