One Couple’s Ideal Job of Moving Water Under Mountains

You might want to buckle up for H2O Radio's latest story, in which they travel under the Continental Divide to meet Glenn and Kim Schryver, caretakers of Grizzly Reservoir, just east of Aspen, Colorado.
Their job is to maintain the reservoir and the creeks that flow into it, as well as the four mile tunnel that sends the water east to the Front Range.
Setting aside the heated politics of moving resources from one basin to another , the tunnel is an engineering triumph—and for many months of the year, the couple's only link to civilization.
For the Schryvers, who have to drive through the 9.5-foot-diameter tunnel just to get groceries, the job is a "pipe dream" come true.
